Hey Bev

I did some web work for dietclub.com.au … they have a pretty cool member calorie-counter diary thing with meal plans and recipes etc. They have some pretty good articles about cholesterol and dieting too. All Australian!

But I recommend you buy their little pocket calorie/fat counter! It rocks! They categorise every food product/fast food item that you can buy in Australia and break down fat/calories/protein/salt/cholesterol etc etc. I think they sell it in any newsagency. have fun!

Hey cool site.. I like how it’s based in Australia too πŸ™‚ The pocket counter is awesome! Is it ONLY for handheld PCs, or do they sell it as a stand-alone device?

The Calorie & Fat Counter is actually a little book! Really handy!
But you can buy the handheld version (with a diet diary) for your Palm or Pocket PC.
OR you can use the one on the site and sync your handheld to it πŸ™‚

omg!

your BMI is SO low!!!!! ur so underweight! the normal BMI is 19-24. 25 is overweight and 30+ is obsese. πŸ™‚

Re: omg!

Err?! That’s the exact opposite of what I’m trying to do! I only eat junky food and I don’t eat fruit and veg.. so now I’m trying to be healthy ‘cos eating junk food all day and never exercising can’t be good for me :T

I recommend using calorieking.com. I used it last summer and it really helped me shape up my eating habits. Since school started I’ve had trouble finding the time for it but by this point I’m used to eating better anyway. It really does help, you just have to make yourself use the website everyday.

unless u’re inhuman, u do NOT have calorie intake requirement of 4000 ok…
my goodness.
normal calorie intake for average woman is: 1800
normal calorie intake for average man is: 2300
as i’ve said..depends also.

ur 1600 is normal. good for u!
but ur BMI..
aiyoh. WAY WAY underweight. u’re what? 42kg over 1.6m frame?
pls take care. regular exercise helps build muscles to hold ur body up. πŸ™‚

Heh nah I’m not certain what my calorie intake is daily.. but I eat mainly meat and carbs and junk food and not veggies and fruit, so I assume it’s pretty high..
I KNOW my BMI is really low, I think it’s because I have light bones, like my mum. ‘Cos if you look at me, I’m thin, but I don’t look super skinny or anorexic or anything.. and I can out-eat any guy I know!

Hehe.. I’ve been trying to get fit for years! But I’ve decided that eating like an absolute pig and never exercising at all can’t be good for me, so I decided to start. I’ve tried doing this before and the max it lasted for was 1 month.. so hopefully it’ll be longer this time!

Har har :T But yeah, I know, I”ve always been light my whole life.. I was even born light! I already eat beyond the amount everyone else does though, and I still don’t put on weight – I’ve been trying to bulk up half my life and it never happens. I suppose it will once I have a child or something!

Everyone already says I eat too much πŸ˜‰ I have breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and supper and I can easily eat more than Chris at any meal. My doctor told me once that the BMI isn’t always accurate ‘cos Asians have a lower bone density and my bones are pretty light, so I guess that’s why I weigh so little. If I have appetiser, main, dessert, and a drink.. I don’t think I can eat more! :T

what your doctor said is true … the normal range should cover asians as well, hence “20” shouldn’t be the absolute mininum BMI for the healthy range πŸ˜‰
