oh house hunting… good thing that we only needed to do that every once in a LONG while. so hard, especially if you don’t have a car. good luck though, i hope you get the places that you wanted! which area are you looking at?

I know! Our feet were totally stuffed and we were *exhausted* from walking everywhere, it was a really hot day too :T I’m looking at the Randwick area, as close to Uni as possible!

I ALWAYS love to see pictures!

This has been asked before, but I would like to know what’s the font style you use for the captions of your photos. If you could refresh my memory, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a bunch!

Oh Bev, you should have uploaded pics:) For nosy me to see…LOL. I do hope you find a good place though. Living on your own can be fun but it also comes with lots of responsibilities esp. bill paying and cleaning…LOL. Also, its different when your friend and you end up living in a house together instead of a hostel. Best to set up boundaries (you know what I mean?) so that things will be fun instead of turning for the worse.
Take care:)

Yeah.. responsibilities like cleaning and stuff are annoying, but I guess it’s not too bad ‘cos it’s so nice having your own place! We’re still trying to find a place though, it’s so hard cos the good places keep getting snapped up πŸ™

Glad you had a good time househunting. I’m going to San Francisco in Feb for two months and the apartments there are so expensive! I hope I find a place soon. Anyways, thanx for the info on the Waterlights – I was debating whether to get this or VLWC but I figured if a foundation evaporates (VL) it’s not worth a hundred bucks so I might get Chanel in Limpide (#10). Did you end up getting the covergirl aquasmooth or something? I tried it on and the texture is fantastic, but I don’t have a color match – it’s all too pink and dark for me. There are only 4 colors? My guess is it’s a virtually identical formulation to Chanel and VL but without a good color match it’s practically useless. I got some Rimmel nail polish today in opal long-lasting finish – it looks really great too. I might get my hair rebonded next week. Where did you get yours done and how much was it? I got my previous two done at Blue Star on Anzac Parade – it’s cheaper than the city.

Cheers,
Danae.

Oooh San Fran would be awesome, I haven’t been there in over 5 years πŸ™

I didn’t like the VLWC that much, it was really sheer so I might as well use a tinted moisturizer which is cheaper! I did get the aquasmooth and I really like it.. I’m a Buff Beige and it’s a perfect match, but I did hear that many people had problems finding their color. They have about 8-10 colors I think!

OMG whereabouts is Blue Star?? How much was it? I got mine done in the city and it was $280 with a haircut, but I live on Anzac Parade so maybe next time I’ll go there instead! Was it rebonded well, etc?

There are 8-10 colors in CG???? Darn, I only saw 4! I’d rather get that than Chanel – much better for the price and if I grow tired of it (I often do) I can just leave it there.

Blue Star is one of the HongKong hair salons on Anzac parade, next to the indonesian restaurants … It’s on the UNSW side, approaching Rainbow court (ask me about it – I lived in Kingsford for 3 years before moving to the city). It’s next to Meeks Street I think. The phone no. is 96630868 and I think the best stylist is Michael, though he has his own ideas and doesn’t always do what I say. It turns out pretty well though. I had it done in 2001 for $180 (city was $240 back then), last year was $230 (didn’t bother to check the city prices as I though they did a good job). I don’t know about now but I guess it might be closer to $280 than I imagine. I’m getting it done next Wed or Thurs – will let you know. The first time was fantastic, and I took really good care of my hair, even getting a Vidal Sassoon steam straightener to freshen up the ends every month. Then I grew slack about it and only blew dry. It lasted for about a year before the roots were noticeable. My advice is take care of the rebonded parts now. If you get it done again, ask if they can only just do the roots. If not the rebonded bits get brittle and break off. I’ve been getting hair cuts diligently after my second one so nearly all my hair has grown out so that I can get it done all over again. It’s partially my fault. If I had taken care of the rebonded bits I could have just asked for the roots to be redone, but I slept with wet hair and got everything kinked up so even redoing the roots wouldn’t have a good effect. Have I confused you enough yet? Let’s just say I talk alot.

I notice lots of new apartments on Anzac Parade. I used to live there – it’s great if you have a car or keen on walking to buy groceries. Personally I prefer living in Maroubra since I love places like Eastgardens (have you been there since it’s refurbished?) and Chatswood Chase. I still go to the city about once a week though. Hate Chinatown … yum cha used to be fun at one point.

If you need more details email me at [email protected].

Yeah I totally recommend the Aquasmooth, it’s awesome! And cheap too πŸ˜›

Hey thanks for the rebonding info.. when I get mine touched up at the roots in about 6 months I’ll definitely check them out, hopefully it’ll be heaps cheaper since it’s just the roots. I use Kerastase’s Oleo Relax line and it’s *awesome* for rebonded hair – makes it really smooth and sleek without weighing it down.

I want to be in Randwick ‘cos all my classes are upper campus and I figure it’s close to Randwick shops where I can do groceries.. I go to the city about once a week too, love it there!
