Nice! My sister has the exact same metal bedframe from IKEA that you ordered and it’s pretty sturdy. But she has her study table underneath the bed instead to save space since her room is really small…

And oh, I’ve posted some pictures of my room online, and you might like to take a look since it’s the same bunk-bed concept too, except I use the bottom as a cozy music corner…

Difference is my stainless steel bedframe is designed and created by my dad (it’s lasted me for years) and it’s the coolest thing ever. Yaay to handyman Dads! πŸ™‚

Hope to see pics of ur new room soon… πŸ™‚

Wowwwwww.. I LOVE your bed, your dad’s a genius!! It looks so nice and clean and neat, mine’s similar but the ladder is on the side and is slanted, and I think my bed comes a bit lower. I can’t wait to get my room set up now! And the rug you have looks kinda similar to mine, cept mine is in pinks πŸ™‚

That does look really nice. I had a loft bed when I was little with my desk and wardrobe underneath, it was the best.
What you were saying before about double or single quilts, I have to say that a friend of mine tried using a single quilt on a double bed and it didn’t work out. Not only does it look horrible but you’ll be rolling around because you have all this extra space and you’ll end up rolling out from under your quilt and getting really cold! In any case Ikea have double bed quilts pretty cheap – over here you can get one for less than Β£20! (sorry – don’t know what that is in AUS..)
Anyway, have fun decorating!

Hrm.. darn.. I already have a single quilt! I’ll suppose I’ll just use that and see how it goes – I don’t want to get a double one just yet in case I can survive with the one I already have.. ‘cos I feel so bad throwing it away :T And yeah, Chris got a simple double one (duck feathers) for just AU$55 which is about Β£20!

Believe it or not… I’ve got the same design (bed and sofa) in my room. And not surprising, I bought it from IKEA! Will take a pic later.

I shared a room with my sister when I was little and we had a bunk bed. I had the top, which is pretty fun but its a pain when you have to use the restroom and your half asleep in the middle of the night. LOL That thing is so neat though, The extra free space is a major plus.

Heh, I’ve wanted a bunk bed my whole life, but I don’t have a sibling so I never did πŸ™ DIdn’t think about the bathroom in the middle of the night thing though, d’oh! Guess I”ll have to hold it in till morning, hehe..

err…i think that’s the pic from the ikea catalogue

anyway the loft bed is really nice! it’s the one i’ve always wanted but will never have coz my mother bought this ridiculously expensive brass bed(which i hate) when i was a kid =(
oh well..

Heh, I’ve wanted a bunk bed ALL MY LIFE, but never got one since I’m an only child. Then i discovered there are *loft* beds, where it’s not 2 beds, but you can put a desk or sofa underneath.. plus it saves heaps of space too, and the frame is $399 for a double loft bed, which is a pretty good deal!

i know! i’ve always wanted a loft bed but my mother won’t let me dump that ridiculously expensive brass bed..so i’m stuck with the brass bed until it’s broken haha

Pretty!

hiyea Bev,
Your new room’s really pretty. =)

Hehe…how much in all did u spend? (to come up with something like that).

Re: Pretty!

Hee! Boy I *wish* that was my room! But nah, it’s off the Ikea.com.au website – the bed is what Im going to have, just that it has a silver metal frame.. and the sofa underneath it is blue. Both those things (plus the matress) are a little under AU$1000 so it’s not too bad!
