Yeah red fades very quickly so it could be a bit of hassle to maintain it. One of my friend has thick black hair and she wanted red highlights… She found a simpler solution, she got about 10 red extensions. It’s lovely and doesn’t fade. πŸ™‚

I like the hair cut but the colour… perhaps the colour is only nice to look at but not good to try πŸ™‚ Red colour seems to fade faster than any other colours, plus, we asian with dark hair are advised to bleach our hair before dyeing for this kind of colour.

Conclusion: Bleach hair and get a colour which will fade faster than other colours? Ans- No. πŸ™‚

Well…since you know we have totally opposite styles, you might just want to take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Personally, for me: I like the colour, it’s a good solid true red (at least on my monitor), though I wish it were interspersed with more solid black. I am not a fan of the wispy things at the bottom though; would instead go for a graphic, solid line, like a Vidal Sassoon bob.

For you: this colour looks similar to the photos you posted of “pink hair.” The pink didn’t look quite pink to me, but more a bright red. I don’t know if I can see you with the big bangs around your face. I think you would need very strong features — that is, big dark eyes, a strong nose, angular face structure — to make that work. The wispy bits at the bottom could work for you. If you modified the style so that the bangs in front were long enough to pull behind your ear, you wouldn’t have the annoying hair-in-your-face thing happening all the time. Also, the cut would be better off with more symmetry. It’s very round and full on the left side of her face. but sort of flat and shapeless on the right. If the cut stays consistently asymmetrical (the right side would have to make a bolder, angular statement), then it could work. Otherwise, keep both sides round and soft.

Well, you asked what I thought, so that’s just my 2 cents worth. Go for it if you think you can pull it of. IMO, haircuts are all about attitude. If you are uncomfortable with your haircut, chances are you won’t wear it well.

Heh, I actually reckon the cut would be awesome on you.. I don’t think I can carry off short hair, cos my face is a bit fat. The colour is cool, but I don’t think I can straighten AND colour at the same time, it’s probably too damaging πŸ™ But at least I get to straighten my hair tomorrow, wooooo hooooo!

Oh, you’re doing the rebonding thing? Yay πŸ˜€ Remember you wanted to do that last year.

Probably not a great idea to straighten and colour, if you value your hair!

Hey, girl —
I don’t know how I feel about that color. It’s a bit too crazy for my liking, but I LOVE the cut and style. Unfortunately, it would be annoying to maintain. I am trying to grow my bangs out sort of like that – for a sexy, over-the-eye shaggy look. It’s always in my eyes, and I just end up looking like a scrub. I am so not kidding.

Ultimately though, I think that it’s always good to try new things.. and if you are going to dye your hair, you might as well do something drastic.. go nuts! You only live once, and you can always dye it black again if you don’t like it.

Hehe it’s actually the colour I like more! Mainly cos I don’t think I can pull off that kinda hair style. It looks nice on her but I think it’d look freaky on me. Ah well, I”ll just stick with straightening my hair πŸ˜›

Hi Beverly,

I’ve been reading your journal for awhile……nice to meet you!

Are you thinking of this hairstyle for yourself?

I think its pretty funky and would look out of place when you want to dress up all classy, feminine and pretty.

its a whimsical hairstyle, you’d have to dress the part (funky, part-punk) to make it work.

Plus how annoying would that be across your face? Take it away from your face and would its still look any good, or just the plain messy chunky cut sliced bob?

So I’m a no, if its for you.

Amy.

Ohhh good point on the whimsical hairstyle.. I think I’m more girly than punky.. the hair cut’s a bit too short for my liking, but I wouldn’t mind it a bit longer and with a softer/neater fringe.

I like the colour though, it’s mad. But since I”m already going to get my hair straightened it’ll probably be too damanging. I still really like the whole hairstyle though, but I guess it just looks nice on HER πŸ˜›

I think Asians can carry off red or brown toned hair? Just not blonde! Actually, the reason I like the colour is ‘cos Chris saw that page in a magazine and said my hair would be awesome that colour, so I’m a bit biased πŸ˜›
