Mmmmm now THAT’S good! Roti prata is one of my fave foods and I miss it *so* much.. can’t even have it end of the year ‘cos I”ll be here in Australia alllll summer πŸ™

Can’t you find those Roti Prata packs they sell? I found them in Cleveland when I was there. You put them in a pan with some oil for 5 mins and they’re almost as good as the ones sold by the hawkers.

On a side note, a Roti Prata ice cream cake… hrm…

YOu do get those instant roti pratas but they’re not the same :T But even so, I live in college so we don’t have access to a kitchen, blah!

You know they sell roti prata at the asian groceries and it tastes as good if not better than the real thing.

Happy Birthday Bev πŸ™‚

oh, that means your birthday is today… halloween… trick or treat! happy birthday and hope the cake was supreme! If not… I know some people… hehe…:)

$56 is hella cheap for a birthday cake. All my friends spent $70+ on their cakes, my 21st Birthday cake was $85- it was a fairly simple marble mudcake in the shape of the numbers ’21’ and ‘happy 21st birthday’ on it.

Is this in Australia? I’d always thought Oz had pretty cheap cakes.. I heard that Michel’s Pattisserie (or however you spell that!) sells one for 15 people for about $30. Mmmmm…. marble mudcake… yuuuuuummmm…

yep, this is in Sydney. I guess it depends on how nice you want the cake to taste. if you want them to use cheap ass ingredients and have it taste like a cake anyone can make then yeah, go to Michel’s. But if you want something super yummy, that everyone will be drooling over i guess it’s worth paying that little bit extra. and like someone already said- you only turn 21 once, so might as well go all the way πŸ™‚

Happy Birthday!

Holy moley!!! Was it laced with gold? πŸ˜› I guess 50 or so bucks isn’t too bad.. especially if it’s absolutely delicious..

Yeah that’s about normal… i suppose you can get one for $30 but it usually is in the $60-80 range at home for a good quality 2kg one so yours is pretty good!

its not that cheap..but nor is it that expensive… it depends how many your feeding.. it sounds reasonable.. and 21st cakes… since they are nicer than most others seem to be more expensive anyhow.. i think my brother’s cost more than that last yr

I’ve paid $25-30 for simple black forest chocolate cakes, suitable for about six people. So I guess what they’re asking isn’t too absurd. And I suppose it’s always more expensive when it’s a special occasion cake.

I got a Lana cake when I went back to Singapore for my 21st and it cost me over a hundred dollars I think. It was pretty big though, coz there were abt 100 guests.

yeah but I’m stingy πŸ˜› Also got grumpy ‘cos he charged the credit card without even confirming first.. ah well, as long as it’s really nice, I don’t mind!
