keep your chin up!

Beverly, just keep your chin up. Mark seems so genuine and just e-mail him back to ask him to consider you when you do graduate. Hopefully, he’ll still remember you – and by that time your website should be even more smashing than it is now. Even though things may be a little down right now, you made a great impression and you will be an even greater and smarter person and will truly wow their pants off.

p.s. I’ve been reading you for so long, I just wanted to send you good vibes from Houston, TX USA.

Re: keep your chin up!

Hi Kathy –

Wow I love your domain name.. waterlily.nu sounds really beautiful πŸ™‚ Thanks for the good vibes! I definitely will apply again when I graduate.. so let’s hope he remembers me, hehe.

did you actually *get* the job, or were you just one of the shortlisted people?
surely there is a way around it somehow! there’s always loop holes that can be found πŸ™‚

Maybe . . .

I know this doesn’t seem possible but . . . maybe, just maybe, something much better is in the works for you. Like I said, that probably sounds absurd to you right now because I can tell how excited you were over this job at Microsoft, but you never know. πŸ˜€

It’s super hard to see the bright side.. but I’m trying to! Everyone’s been really positive about it, so it really helps too πŸ™‚

Beverly, It really is a shame that you can’t get the job. However, you should be happy! First of all, you can finish university in a timely manner. Secondly, most big companies that hire students by making them defer school would prefer to not send them back to school. Coming from someone who has had that experience, I know you will be much better off finishing your school career first and getting a big corporate job second. If you really are THAT qualified for the microsoft job, just think of how much more qualified you’ll be for a bigger and better job once you finish school!

That’s true.. thanks for the optimism, I needed that πŸ™‚ I’ll just apply again when I gradute, to MIcrosoft as well as to other IT companies – and hopefully I’ll have the same luck as this time, *minus* the visa difficulties!

cheer up…

hey Bev…

it’s really bad to hear that you’ve gotta give this up and all…

i mean… well it tells you how much worth you really are. think about it! Microsoft WANTED you! hey cmon… cheer up.

i guess there’s nothing much i can say to cheer you up but well… it’s not the end of the world, you’ve got a long way more, and there’ll be millions of other opportunities.

smile and keep your chin up…

Re: cheer up…

Heh.. the fact that Microsoft wanted me makes me both happy and sad – happy ‘cos I never thought I could do it, and sad ‘cos I’m stuck and can’t take the job! I *hope* there’ll be more opportunities like this.. if I get a great job when I gradute, I’ll definitely get over this πŸ˜›

SHUCKS

Dear Bev,

Oh no I’m so sorry and sad to hear that. I’m suitably impressed that you got the job and every bit happy for you too.. It sucks, it sucks. But don’t give up hope ok? You’re headed for the big things, girl!

Nicole.

Re: SHUCKS

Thanks Nicole πŸ™‚ I guess I’ll be happy with the fact that I got the job.. and IF the government wasn’t in my way, I could work! Ah well, they better remember me in 2 years when I apply again after I graduate.. hehe.
