definitely find a bandeau top. or or or just get a piece of the same material as the dress and make it yourself hehe. you know, that bottom looks like my prom dress piece. mine was just a tad poofier. you could also find a white or black top to match. that would be something different.

ooooooh…that skirt is just gorgeous!!!definately the kind of skirt to wear to a ball, really princess-like!love it! and yes, the top looks a bit cheap with such a skirt…i’d go for some sleeveless lycra top, plain and simple to drive all the attention to the pretty skirt.maybe white, maybe light pink.i’m sure you can get a cute top at topshop (…), h&m or somewhere….by the way, have you searched over the internet?!?! *good luck!*

It’s by Victoria’s Secret and is meant for balls.. so I don’t think it’s supposed to be for high school πŸ˜‰

this is only my opinion but the spaghetti strap tank top looks kind of cheap with the skirt.. i once wore a ralph lauren ball gown skirt with a black, tight fitting, 3/4 sleeve cardigan that was a little bit above the belly and buttoned it up. actually, its been done a lot before. so if you find a nice little cardigan while shopping, it might be a classy alternative to a bandeau top.

Mmm true. I think when I go to the City I’ll just madly look at every top I see and hopefully at least 1 will go with the skirt. Otherwise I’ll just wear the top in the photo – it doesn’t look that great, but oh well πŸ˜›

I think the skirt looks a little long in that photo as well. But are you barefoot in the photo?? It might be OK when you’re wearing heels. Overall I do like the outfit and I think it’d be very nice for the ball.

I have a question – if you’re not showing Chris what you’re wearing for the ball beforehand, how come you’re going to go shopping with him next week to look for tops??

I’m bending my legs slightly in the photo (so I could get myself in) and I’m barefoot, which is why the skirt looks so long. Obviously I’ll stand up straight and wear heels on the day πŸ˜› It’s still slightly on the long side though – it just sweeps the floor.. so I might get it altered.

‘Bout Chris.. he’s coming with me to the shoot, so he’ll be with me when I go shopping. I’ll just sneakily look for tops and hopefully he won’t make the connection πŸ˜‰

Well to tell the truth, I’m not too fond of the skirt. It looks too long for you. But eh, the top you’re wearing with it is fine.

*stutter* But.. but….but…… Chris is so damn GORGEOUS and YUMMY! Then again, every time I tell our friends “He tastes really good, just try!” they ether laugh hysterically or give me strange looks.
Crazy friends, eh.

Ohh, I have crazy freinds too. Tonight I was bitten and attacked with celery and ranch dressing. I’ll find someoen else to gnaw on then. *grin*

HURRAH! One person likes it πŸ˜‰ I didn’t want to ask my friends offline, because we’re not telling each other what we’re wearing so it’ll be a surprise. And I’m certainly not asking Chris either.
As for sewing – I can probably sum up my skills with 2 words: utter crap. When I did Design & Technology in high school, we had to sew something. I was lazy and went out to the shops and bought a pink silk bag and handed it in, and the teacher never knew the difference. So yeah, sneaky me never ended up learning any sewing πŸ˜‰

sounds like me πŸ™‚

i took fashion in high school & my mom ended up sewing my final project for me.

then this past year, i had to make a bag for industrial design & guess who sewed it for me? my mom…and i got 100% on craftsmenship πŸ˜€
